Improving your home’s curb appeal with an inviting entrance can add thousands of dollars to the value of your home. Not only is the front walk and patio of our client’s home appealing, it’s highly functional as well. We began by excavating the old patio and built a tasteful walkway and patio from Forest Pearl flagstone. We added a granite wall and staircase, and complemented the patio with a classic wrought-iron railing. A new plant bed with built-in irrigation, along with flattering lighting, completes the new look.

This property, in an established neighbourhood in Burnaby, called for a complete front and back yard redesign. We started with a clean slate by excavating and removing all the old plants, shrubs, and grass. Carefully selected plants, as well as turf grass, were added to the new landscape. Old Country pavers used for the patio and walkway give the look of hand-hewn stone, and add a touch of European charm.

The client of this West Vancouver residence took advantage of the full range of Absolute Landscaping services to create a back yard worthy of a design magazine. The new landscaping makes the most of the breathtaking views, with a sweeping stone path and driveway, low-growing plants that frame the yard, and a manicured lawn. A new lighting system adds beautiful ambiance in the evening.

One of our smaller projects, the owner of this property wanted a very low maintenance landscape. We used river rock to create a dry bed look, and added a row of easy to care for plants.

Rustic Old Country paving stone gives this patio a casual look. An angular wood deck frames the patio and creates an inviting entrance and comfortable sitting area.

This compact backyard on West 5th Ave. has it all. We began by laying a paving stone patio, then built a walkway from the patio to the gate. Tucked beside the driveway are two planter boxes, which are also connected to the patio with a natural stone path. A solid cedar fence creates privacy, while turf grass softens the area.

The driveway and entrance of this West 41st Ave. home in Vancouver required a complete excavation and landscaping. In addition to laying a practical asphalt driveway, we built a Pisa block retaining wall to delineate the parking area from the patio. We softened the look by building a dry river rock planter bed at the top of the retaining wall and added low-maintenance plants.

The high grade of this property lent itself well to a two-tiered retaining wall. The timber blends in with the house’s natural materials and the North Vancouver setting. (Not in view: aggregate patio)

Project Details

Located on a residential stretch of Georgia Street in Vancouver, this home needed a complete backyard renovation. We created an urban retreat that includes beautiful bamboo plantings, and a pond and rock fountain that adds the soothing, natural sound of running water. Planter boxes create flexible year-round planting options, and a new pathway provides structure and flow.

Project Details

This Burnaby home had a long, sloping backyard. We excavated and tiered the yard, then built an impressive retaining wall. The Pisa block walls are connected by a wide, elegant pathway, and two sets of stairs built of Old Country paving stones add a feeling of grandeur. New plants, fresh sod, built-in irrigation and lighting completed this project.
